Thanksgiving Weekend at The River’s Edge 🦃🎄
Why spend Thanksgiving weekend sitting at home when you can spend it with your TRE family?
Join us for a long holiday weekend filled with great food, football, cocktails, campfires, a little Sexy Grinch mischief, and plenty of Christmas cheer. We’ll kick things off with our traditional Thanksgiving Potluck, then keep the weekend rolling with the Big Cock Tailgate Party, a Sexy Grinch Meet & Greet around the bonfire, and a Saturday packed with holiday fun.
Start Saturday with Bloody Marys & Mimosas while trimming the Clubhouse tree, show off your creativity in our Festival of Trees Decorating Contest, gather around the table again for our Fall/Winter Potluck, and then bundle up in your ugliest Christmas sweater for our annual pilgrimage to the Lunsford Farms Christmas Light Tour.
It’s part Thanksgiving gathering, part Christmas kickoff, and completely TRE — good food, good drinks, ridiculous fun, and the people who make this place feel like home.
🏕️ Come hungry. Bring a dish. Decorate a tree. Wear something festive. Stay for the weekend.
Thursday, November 26
2pm – Thanksgiving Potluck @ Clubhouse
TRE provides 1 large Turkey & Ham, iced tea/sweet tea. Please bring your favorite dish to pass, ready-to-serve dish at the clubhouse by 1:45pm as we begin serving PROMPTLY at 2pm!
Friday, November 28
2pm – Big Cock Tailgate Party (Annual Site 51)
Pull up with your favorite snack to share and wear your favorite jersey and jock combo! Football on outdoor TV screen or music pending weather. Some snacks and booze provided – recommended BYOB.
7pm – Meet and Greet – Theme “Sexy Grinch” (Bonfire Pit)
Saturday, November 29
11:00am – A Bloody Mary & Mimosa Tree Trimming (Clubhouse)
12:00am – Festival of Trees Decorating Contest – The campground has a few trees, but bring your own tree to decorate downtown TRE or display at your annual site. Pick a theme and get creative! We want them be out and about until after New Year’s.
6pm – Saturday Fall/Winter Potluck (Clubhouse)
Make sure you have your ready-to-serve dish at the clubhouse by 5:45 as we begin serving PROMPTLY at 6pm! Festival of Trees Winners will be announced at Dinner.
7:30pm – Lunsford Farms Christmas Light Tour. If you’d like to attend, meet at the clubhouse at 7. Wear your ugliest holiday sweater and decorate your car for a brilliant holiday kick off. **weather permitting**
